BIO

A dedicated performer, visual artist, & creative producer, Marisa Quinn can currently be seen worldwide as “Huilen” – a pivotal character in the highly anticipated Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, directed by Oscar Winner Bill Condon.

A graduate of Brown University, the National Theater Institute, and the St. Petersberg State Theatre Arts Academy in St. Petersberg, Russia, Marisa has enjoyed a multifaceted career on both stage and screen. She has performed as a professional vocalist in both the United States and Mexico, and originated the role of “Dorothy Dark Eyes” at the first workshop of "Distant Thunder" at The Autry Theater in Los Angeles as well as reprising the role at AMAS in NYC. Her stage work also includes producer, director, and performer credits in Off-off Broadway presentations of Going Home, Elsewhere, and William Saroyan’s The New Play.

Since moving to LA she has portrayed memorable characters in popular Network TV shows like Sons of Anarchy (FX), Private Practice (ABC), and Criminal Minds (CBS), as well as garnered critical praise for her work as “Nadja” in the action-packed sequel Road House 2.

Committed to creative endeavors on both sides of the camera, Marisa also Executive Produced and starred in festival favorite Sweet Mary & Jane which continues to screen across the globe.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present staged readings of Distant Thunder, a Native American Musical, with book by Lynne Taylor-Corbettand Shaun Taylor-Corbett, lyrics by Chris Wiseman and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, additional music by Robert Lindsey-Nassif, and music direction and arrangements by Michael Moricz.

The Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA), the oldest Native American service and advocacy organization in the country, has its roots in New York City. Started in 1922 and incorporated in New York, AAIA returns to the City each November for its Annual Meeting of the Members, Native Film Showcase and Honoring Reception. This year, we recognize three prominent Native American leaders at a cocktail reception tonight, November 20, 2014 at 6:00 PM.
AAIA to Honor Native American Leaders, Screen Three Short Films at 11/20 Reception

The Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA), the oldest Native American service and advocacy organization in the country, has its roots in New York City. Started in 1922 and incorporated in New York, AAIA returns to the City each November for its Annual Meeting of the Members, Native Film Showcase and Honoring Reception. This year, we recognize three prominent Native American leaders at a cocktail reception on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 6:00 PM. Immediately following the reception, there will be an evening of entertainment featuring three short films, the screening of the inspiring documentary film, Playground of the Native Son, which tells the story of the Hominy Indian football team who played and defeated the World Champion New York Giants in the 1920's as well as performances by Martha Redbone and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, accompanied by Marisa Quinn. Documentary filmmaker Celia Xavier will introduce the feature film. Doors to the theater will open at 7:00 pm (start time 7:30). Performances and screenings are Free and Open to the Public. Seating is first come, first served.
