Stage West Presents The Holiday Charmer HANDLE WITH CARE, By Jason Odell Williams

How does someone cope with the loss (literally) of a much-loved relative on Christmas Eve, in a country where she doesn't speak the language?  Maybe life, or perhaps Fate, has a few surprises in store, in Jason Odell Williams' sweetly funny Handle with Care, which begins a 5-week regional premiere run Thursday, December 8.

DANCE NATION Announced At Rec Room

Rec Room Arts will begin the 2022 season with the Houston premiere of Dance Nation, Clare Barron's award-winning play about pre-teen competitive dancers and the burden of adolescence. Sophia Watt will direct the production, with choreography by Skye Bronfenbrenner. Preview performances begin January 20, with an official opening on Saturday, January 22. Performances will run through February 5.

As crackers and wine are trotted out, so are old jealousies, and the true reason for this visit, which seems to be an evening of laughter, food, and memories, reveals itself to be something else entirely. Stage West presents Lucy Kirkwood's thrilling and astonishing Tony nominee The Children, which begins a 5-week regional premiere run on Thursday, March 12.

Casting has been announced for CityRep's Oklahoma professional premiere of the Tony and Olivier Award-winning play THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME by Simon Stephens, adapted from Mark Haddon's bestselling novel. Rasheeda Speaking, Joel Drake Johnson's psychological thriller, pits two co-workers against each other, when one receives a promotion to monitor the other. Office politics, fueled by racial contention, creates a battle to control the workplace. This chilling, dark comedy blends the realities of racism, superiority, and friendship to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Circle Theatre continues its 36th Season with RasheedaSpeaking, by Joel Drake Johnson. This psychological thriller, pits two co-workers against each other, when one receives a promotion to monitor the other.

The fourth play in Circle Theatre's 35th anniversary season is The Taming, Lauren Gunderson's all female "power-play". This raucous political comedy will have both parties laughing in the aisles. Hilarity ensues when two political opposites wake up and discover themselves locked in a hotel room with a beauty queen. Following her past Circle productions of Exit, Pursued By A Bear (2013) and I and You (2015), The Taming brings to the stage the startling humor and rich roles for women that Ms. Gunderson skillfully creates.
