The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced casting for Northwest Bookshelf, this season's Educational Touring Company show, which will tour to schools and community centers across Washington state from February to May 2023.

Rosalind and Orlando engage in a glorious game of love, lust, and mistaken identities in a magical forest in Shakespeare's As You Like It. Kelly Kitchens directs the production which begins previews on April 23, opens April 26, and runs through May 19 at the Center Theatre at Seattle Center.

Village Theatre Announces The 17th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS

Village Theatre is excited to announce the lineup for The 17th Annual Festival of New Musicals, which will take place in Issaquah on August 11-13, 2017 and continues the theatre's dedication to the development of new work. This year, the Festival's five readings will include Nikola Tesla Drops the Beat, an electronic pop musical about one of the world's greatest inventors; Hart Island, a look at social justice and the people society has forgotten; Afterwords, a tale of art and love; Howl's Moving Castle, based on the novel by Diana Wynne Jones and animated feature by Hayao Miyazaki; and ZM, a hilarious romp through a zombie-filled future by the Tony Award-winning authors of Urinetown.

ArtsWest Announce Extension of SWEENEY TODD

In response to strong ticket sales and critical acclaim, ArtsWest will extend the run of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd through Friday, July 7, 2017. The additional performances are scheduled for 7:30pm each evening, with the exception of the 3pm matinee on Sunday, July 2. Tickets for the added performances can be purchased immediately at arstwest.org.

Forward Flux Productions to Present GREEN WHALES and STILL LIFE

This Fall, Forward Flux Productions will present its first two full productions in Seattle after relocating from New York City last year. Two brand new plays showing in the same space: the Northwest regional premiere of 'Green Whales,' a dark comedy about falling in love by Lia Romeo, and the world premiere of 'Still Life,' a touching and humorous look at life and loss in the age of terrorism by Barbara Blumenthal-Ehrlich. September 16 - October 3, 2015 at Kaladi Brothers / Gay City (517 East Pike St, Seattle WA 98122). Wesley Fruge (Artistic Director, Forward Flux) directs.

Forward Flux Productions is kicking off their inaugural 2015 season in Seattle (after moving here from NYC) by presenting a very special Open Invite edition of The Flux Salon. It will feature a reading of Out of Time, the new play by recent Gregory Award and Seattle Times Footlight Award winner Rachel Atkins (Black Like Us).

Forward Flux Productions will present the North West Regional premiere reading of Lia Romeo's dangerously dark comedy Green Whales at the next Flux Salon gathering in Seattle. In addition to the reading, visual art will be on display from Seattle artist Sydney M. Pertl and there will be a musical performance by beat-box artist Zeke Keeble. The Flux Salon presents new works by fresh voices in intimate spaces throughout the city, and this marks the first in a series of three Salons featuring plays by female playwrights. The Salon is tonight, October 7th at 7:00pm, by invitation only (email salon@forwardflux.com for invite).

BWW Reviews: STC Throws One WILD PARTY That Shouldn't Be Missed!

It's a really good thing the air conditioning is working in the Seattle Center Armory because something has to cool the audience down after Sound Theatre Company's current production of "The Wild Party". Not only is it a sultry good time but the fear, love, lust, anger and danger coming off the cast is palpable.
