Sound Theatre Company continues their summer of provocative theatre with the Seattle premiere of Andrew Lippa's sexy and searing THE WILD PARTY, a musical inspired by Joseph Moncure March's banned 1928 poem about the excesses of the Jazz Age. For all who enjoy Rent or Chicago, this dark, erotic descent is a must-see.

In THE WILD PARTY, a group of burlesque performers join together for a wild, erotic evening in the Manhattan apartment of vaudevillians Queenie and Burrs, when a newcomer complicates their strained relationship and challenges their decadent and thrill-seeking high living.

THE WILD PARTY previews tonight, August 8th and continues through August 25th at the Center Theatre at the Seattle Center Armory (Formerly the Seattle Center House Theatre). Tickets can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/362552 or see www.soundtheatrecompany.org for more information.

For mature audiences: contains very adult situations.

The cast includes Tori Spero (Queenie),Troy Wageman (Burrs), Jesse Smith (Mr. Black), Allison Standley (Kate), DeSean Halley (Eddie), McKenna Turner (Mae), Leslie Wisdom (Madelaine True), Adrienne Baltz (Nadine), Zandi Carlson (Jackie), Bo Mellinger (Oscar D'Armano), James Sgambati (Phil D'Armano), Alyssa Keene (Dolores), Matt Fulbright (Sam), Justin Carrell (The Neighbor), Sara Trowbridge (Max).

THE WILD PARTY is directed by Corey McDaniel (Artistic Director of Theater22), with musical direction by Carl Petrillo and choreography by Jessica Low. Set and lighting design are by the Gypsy Award-recognized Richard Schaefer, with costume design by Candace Frank (Lucia Neare's Theatrical Wonders).

Andrew Lippa's musical adaptation is one of two based on the same source material that were staged in New York during the 1999-2000 theater season. The production featured Julia Murney, Idina Menzel, Brian D'Arcy James and Taye Diggs, and received the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music, and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical, along with Lucille Lortel and Obie Awards for production elements. Lippa has been the creative force behind many of Broadway's biggest hits including the revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and The Addams Family (Tony nominee).

Sound Theatre Company presents highly theatrical work inspired by language and music while showcasing professional and emerging talent in the Seattle area.

THE WILD PARTY is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
