Arion Chamber Music Series to feature Quartet 131 in Concert Celebrating Black History Month Friday, February 21

The New York-based composer & performer collective, Random Access Music (RAM), has dedicated its 2020 season, entitled 'We, the Whole People', to honoring the centenary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which extended women's suffrage throughout the United States. Inspired by the pioneering women who achieved these freedoms, the season will feature music by female composers of the past 100 years.

Michael Grandage today announces the recipients of the fourth annual MGCfutures Bursaries awarded across a range of theatrical disciplines including directing, writing, producing, designing, composing, choreography and performance-makers. A registered charity, MGCfutures offers both financial and ongoing mentoring support to the recipients who come from across the UK.

Knoll, soprano Indira Mahajan and Russian-born American pianist Julia Zilberquit with a surprise debut performance by mezzo-soprano Lisa Chavez, occasioned by noted mezzo soprano Sara Murphy who was indisposed.

Mezzo soprano Lisa Chavez make will make her debut appearance with the popular New York classical concert series 'PREformances with Allison Charney' on December 5 at theGoldman Sonnenfeldt Auditorium on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Ms. Chavez, who just finished performances with the New York City Opera, will join PREformances featured guest artists violinist Laura Goldberg, composer and pianist Moshe Knoll and virtuoso pianist Julia Zilberquit - as a surprise addition to the concert roster - replacing mezzo soprano, Sara Murphy who is indisposed.

For the first time in the series' history, PREformances with Allison Charney will have a full chamber orchestra on stage on Monday, February 2nd at 12:30pm at JCC Manhattan. The ArtsAhimsa Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Elefant, will play the orchestral version of Moshe Knoll's glorious setting of Psalm 133 that was developed on PREformances.
