New Adventures has announced the return of “Doorstep Duets” with two brand new short pieces for 2022: “Ding Dong” by New Adventures Dance Artist Sophia Hurdley and “High Tide” by New Adventures Dance Artist Daisy May Kemp.

New Adventures has just announced its next two Emerging Artist Apprentices, Hannah Kremer and Perreira Franque. The Emerging Artist Apprenticeship is a two-year talent development scheme that supports dancers as they transition from professional training to working in the industry, with a particular focus on developing those who are underrepresented.

New Adventures has announced their Overture dance artist cohort for 2021/2022. Established in 2016, Overture is the annual New Adventures professional development programme for dance artists and dance teachers from a variety of genres who have been working in community or education settings for less than five years.

Live performances return to the school’s studio theatre in Edgbaston, Birmingham this summer, kicking off with the graduate year students of Elmhurst Ballet Company in Proxemics on 3 & 6 July, and concluding with the whole school performing in Elevate on 7 & 8 July.

New Adventures & Re:Bourne are delighted to announce that Jamaal Burkmar is the winner of the 2015/16 New Adventures Choreographer Award (NACA). Nearly 100 applied for the award. Burkmar was shortlisted with six other emerging choreographers: Corey Baker, Tara D'Arquian, Alexandra Green, Eleesha Drennan, Andrew McNicol and Matt Nicholson. Burkmar was chosen after a weekend of intervigews, debate and deliberation chaired by Bourne and his team of distinguished judges:

Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty sees the popular choreographer return to the music of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky to complete the trio of the composer's ballet masterworks that started in 1992 with Nutcracker! and, most famously, in 1995, with the international hit Swan Lake.
