Composer-performer Phil Kline, long associated with Bang on a Can, will present three concerts of new and beloved works during LOUD Weekend, the three-day culmination of the annual Bang on a Can Summer Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA.

This December, composer Phil Kline's mobile surround sound-sculpture UNSILENT NIGHT — a landmark in avant-garde public sound art — takes place in more than 35 cities across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Streets, parks and sidewalks will come alive with “a shimmering sound-wall of bells and chimes that is dreamlike to wander through in the December nip” (The Village Voice).

On Wednesday, April 5 at 8:00 p.m. at Brooklyn's Roulette, the Curated by Meredith Monk concert series presents the always surprising composer PHIL KLINE-best known for his Zippo Songs and Unsilent Night-in an evening entitled Not OK. 

In COOKING WITH THE MUSE: A Sumptuous Gathering of Seasonal Recipes, Culinary Poetry, and Literary Fare, co-authors Myra Kornfeld and Stephen Massimilla explore the full potential of a complete seasonal cookbook, one that celebrates real food and the rich cycles and traditions behind it. Here the glories of fresh ingredients, nutritious cooking, delectable dishes, and culinary literature are honored as never before.

New York City, NY — Celebrating its 15th season, the Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC) returns to BAM Fisher for six performances of Anna Akhmatova: The Heart is Not Made of Stone. Written by Eve Wolf and directed by Donald T. Sanders, this multi-media production examines the troubled relationship between artistic creation and totalitarianism through the perspective of the Russian poet Anna Akhmatova (1889-1966). This tale of passion, love, political repression, and redemption is interwoven with music by Russian composers' Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich.
