Rain has so far prevented Bryant Park Corporation and The Drilling Company's Shakespeare in the Parking Lot from presenting 'Hamlet' under the stars this Holiday Weekend in Bryant Park. So a special performance has been set for Monday, May 26 at 7:00 PM, when excellent weather is now in the forecast. The public is invited to savor Shakespeare's best-known tragedy as the holiday weekend draws to a close.

To honor Shakespeare's 450th birthday, Bryant Park Corporation and The Drilling Company's Shakespeare in the Parking Lot will present 'Hamlet' in Bryant Park today, May 15 to 31, 2014. It is Bryant Park's first Shakespeare production and The Drilling Company's first Shakespeare production outside the municipal parking lot at the corner of Ludlow and Broome Streets, where its intrepid, bare-boned productions have become a New York tradition.

Hamilton Clancy, Artistic Director of The Drilling Company, chose 'Cymbeline' as the opening show of the 2013 season of Shakespeare in the Parking Lot because it portrays a divided world that is magically healed. The play is a hopeful fable to invoke at a time when the world seems so irrevocably torn, with our own country so polarized and the Middle East ripping itself apart in hopeless religious conflicts. Performances will be today, July 11 to 27 in the Municipal Parking Lot at the corner of Ludlow and Broome Streets.

Stellar Productions held a staged reading of Bob Bartlett's 'Whales' this weekend directed by Stewart F. Lane. The script has been a finalist in several play writing festivals including Baltimore Playwriting Festival, Catholic University, Kendeda Playwriting Festival, and Seven Devils Playwriting Conference. The cast included Ian Biesinger, Rob Pedini, Kathy Curtis, Bonnie Comley, David Mangiamele, and Alyssa Renzi.
