Midtown Direct Rep (MDR) continues its 2015-16 Theater in the Loft series at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) with a staged reading of Evanston: A Rare Comedy, written by Michael Yates Crowley. This reading, directed by Michael Rau, will be performed for one night only on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 7pm at SOPAC (One Sopac Way, South Orange, NJ, 07079). Starting Friday, August 10, Downtown Bangor will be dotted with some unusual art installations for all to see as Penobscot Theatre Company unveils Art Outta the Box. In collaboration with PTC, a dozen area artists have transformed old newspaper vending machines, donated by the Bangor Daily News, into unique works of art, which will be sponsored or sold by auction to support the theatre.

Nominations for the 2012 FREDDY© Awards were announced yesterday, May 10th, live on 69 WFMZ-TV during the Noon News broadcast. Leading the pack this year are Freedom High School with 17 nominations. Emmaus High School and Parkland High School both scooped 12 nominations. Notre Dame High School is close behind with 11 nominations.
