On April 18th, the Entertainment+Arts Alliance (formerly the Entertainment AIDS Alliance) hosted an event at The Producer's Club to announce the winner of the 2023 Mamie and Jimmie Collier Writing Fellowship.

Trilogy: An Opera Company presents Michael Raphael's Nat Turner, an opera inspired by the leader of a rebellion of enslaved people in 1831.

On November 19 at 7:00 PM, Woodie King, Jr.'s New Federal Theatre will present its 2021 Poetry Jam, 'She Speaks: Love, Resilience, Revolution,' a virtual evening of poetry featuring Sasa Aakil, Gha'il Rhodes Benjamin, Bayan Founas (Bayan the Poet), Angela Jackson, jessica Care moore and Dionne Tenhue (aka Luna the Poet).

On October 16 - 18, Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre's Octoberfest virtual revival play reading series will present the acclaimed 'From the Mississippi Delta,' the biographical journey of a Black woman's rise from poverty and prostitution to become a Civil Rights activist and historian by late scholar-poet Endesha Ida Mae Holland, PhD.

Marking the halfway point in its commitment to present all 10 plays of August Wilson's American Century Cycle, Two River Theater's critically-acclaimed production of Wilson's drama King Hedley II, directed by Brandon J.
