Jenna Harris BIO
Jenna Harris is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Theatre Conservatory Program in New York City. She is an actor, playwright, devised theatre creator, arts educator, and dancer. As an actor, Jenna has worked in both the United States and Canada. Jenna’s arts education and teaching background includes teaching dance at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet Tech and the 92nd Street Y in New York, and in Toronto at numerous theatre schools. As a writer, Jenna has written everything from radio shows to animated shorts, webseries to feature films, site-specific work to full-length plays, and is the Editor-in-Chief of City Voices: A Book of Monologues by Toronto Artists. In January 2015, Jenna’s play Mine had its premiere at the Next Stage Theatre Festival in Toronto. Jenna has been part of Studio 180 Theatre’s inaugural IN DEVELOPMENT (Nov. 2015), the Tarragon Playwrights Unit (2015-16), the Thousand Islands Playwright’s Unit (2016), and Buddies in Bad Times Artist Residency program (2016-17). Jenna was also a Playwright in Residence at Buddies in Bad Times (2016-17).

Emerging independent theatre company, Discord and Din Theatre (This is Where We Live, The SummerWorks Theatre Festival 2015 and Mine, the Next Stage Theatre Festival 2015), in association with Seventh Stage Productions (Wendy Darling, Stockholm, 9 Parts of Desire, Whale Music and more), is producing the Canadian premiere of Cordelia Lynn's searing feminist play Lela & Co. from September 21st to October 8th, 2017 at The Theatre Centre BMO Incubator. Both companies pride themselves on producing politically and socially relevant theatre to shed light on those in the dark.

PFP Announces LezPlay Weekend Finalists
Pride Films and Plays has announced the results of our LezPlay contest. The judges have named five finalists, including a teleplay and four stage plays. and these writers will have their scripts presented as staged readings during LezPlay Weekend, which runs September 11-13 at the Hoover-Leppen Theatre of Center on Halsted.

Primary Stages continues their 28th season with the 20th anniversary revival of All in the Timing by David Ives. Opening night is Tuesday, February 12. Directed by Tony Award-winner John Rando (Urinetown; A Christmas Story, The Musical),the production features Eric Clem (Blue Man Group), Carson Elrod (Peter and the Starcatcher), Jenn Harris (Silence! The Musical), Liv Rooth (Venus in Fur), and Matthew Saldivar (Peter and the Starcatcher). All in the Timing runs through March 17 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.
