If we could actually 'rewind' time, some in academia might have chuckled at the very core of the EduHam program, an education program that presupposes that American History students can comprehend and retain complex materials through rap music. Student representatives from two New York City youth organizations--the Young People's Chorus of New York City under Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez, and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History--will be presented with a 2011 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award by First Lady Michelle Obama at a White House ceremony today.
