SATORI opened Cape Town City Ballet's Spring Season this past weekend at Artscape Opera House. The limited run presents a trilogy of works presented by the CTCB that includes two that are newly staged as well as an original commissioned work from an international choreographer. True to its meaning of 'enlightenment', SATORI is a refreshing offering from the local company following SLEEPING BEAUTY.

One could easily have mistaken the Artscape stage for the 19th century grandeur of the Bolshoi Theatre - as Cape Town City Ballet's production of SLEEPING BEAUTY was nothing short of captivating on its opening night this past weekend.

With the first stop in Johannesburg drawing to a close next week, the international tour of EVITA is ready to transfer to Cape Town, where it will play the Artscape Opera House throughout December and into 2018 until 7 January.

The full cast for the Harold Prince-directed production of EVITA in South Africa has been announced. Presented by Pieter Toerien and David Ian, this revival of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical will see the original West End and Broadway production presented on stage at The Teatro at Montecasino and the Artscape Opera House later this year.

Rising young stars of the Cape Town City Ballet are set to take centre stage in the classic and comic ballet, COPPELIA, at Artscape in Cape Town. Based on the well-known tale by E.T.A. Hoffmann, this sparkling production of the beloved ballet has a short run at the end of May.

Cape Town City Ballet is nothing if not ambitious. SHADES OF LOVE sees the company's featured artists dancing superbly, but the production never coheres into a fully-realised evening of ballet.

The world's favourite Christmas ballet, THE NUTCRACKER, is coming to Cape Town this festive season. Presented by the Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB), the beloved fairytale ballet will open at the Artscape Theatre tonight 15 December and run until 24 December, culminating in the company's hugely popular annual 'Fairy Parade'.

Cape Town City Ballet's smash hit production, NIGHT & DAY, returns to the Artscape Theatre this festive season from 31 December 2015 to 10 January 2016. With a special opening night performance scheduled for New Year's eve, the sparkling ballet celebrates the extraordinary life and music of Cole Porter, one of the 20th century's most prolific and successful song writers.

The enchanting romantic ballet, GISELLE, opens at Artscape in Cape Town on Friday 25 September, featuring star dancers from the Royal Ballet in London and Cape Town City Ballet.

Cape Town City Ballet will present Marc Goldberg's adaptation of Noel Coward's first great commercial success, THE VORTEX, at Theatre on the Bay at the end of July 2015.

After an enormously successful opening season last year, THUMBELINA, the ballet, returns to Artscape over the Easter weekend. Due to huge public demand, three exclusive performances have been scheduled in the Artscape Opera House, two on Sat 4 April and one on Sunday 5 April.

Bookings for the spectacular ballet, CARMEN, are now open at Computicket. Choreographed by South Africa's foremost ballet choreographer, Veronica Paeper, CARMEN will be performed by star dancers of the Cape Town City Ballet at Artscape in Cape Town from 25 to 31 March.

Opening on Sunday 1 February, the Cape Town City Ballet's much anticipated annual season at Maynardville Park will feature four performances of the enchanting ballet, LA SYLPHIDE. Running until 22 February, lovers of dance can once again look forward to experiencing the beautiful art of ballet in the breathtaking open-air setting of the park.

This festive season, Cape Town City Ballet ends its 80th anniversary celebrations on a high note, with a magical production of the ballet, Cinderella. Filled with lots of fun and laughter for the whole family, Cinderella will be presented at Artscape in Cape Town from 19 December to 10 January. The matinee performance on 24 December will include the very popular annual Fairy Parade.

Seats have been snapped up for Cape Town City Ballet's matinee performances of Thumbelina. As a result of the high ticket demand, an extra matinee has been added which will take place on Sunday 2 November at 15h00.

A brand new children's ballet, THUMBELINA, based on the enchanting fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, opens on Friday 24 October at Artscape in Cape Town.

Following a bumper festive season of magical ballet performances, Cape Town City Ballet proudly launches its 80th anniversary celebrations in 2014 with two splendid ballets performed in the idyllic open-air setting of Maynardville Park in Cape Town. The Firebird and Les Sylphides will be performed every Sunday, from 19 January until 16 February.
