GARY RAY BUGARCIC aka GARY RAY – is a Director, Actor and Playwright who will be directing the new rock musical BULLDOZER opening fall 2017 at the Theatre at St. Clements. Gary made his directorial debut in NYC on Theatre Row, working with The Yankee Rep on the plays Serious Trouble and Don’t Do Me Any Favors. He’s also directed for The Manhattan Short Theatre Festival, The Three Legged Dog Theatre and The Dramatist Guild. As a playwright his play The Hostess, a dark comedy that takes place in Greenwich Village in 1959, was recently published on-line with IndieTheaterNow. As an actor, he’s appeared on stage at The Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Ridiculous Theatrical Company, La Mama, PS 122, The Kitchen, Naked Angels, NYC FRINGE and other venues around NYC. Gary also toured nationally with performance artist Karen Finley in her play THE THEORY OF TOTAL BLAME. In the 1980’s he founded the downtown club DARINKA: A Performance Studio that helped spawn artists Steve Buscemi and They Might Be Giants, just to name a few. The DARINKA Archives are now part of The Downtown Collection at NYU. He is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NY) and SUNY Empire State University.

Veteran Broadway actor, Richard Waits, is bringing Jon-Marc McDonald's anticipated play, Relatively Conscious, to the stage in February at the New York Theater Festival. The play, which centers around the murder of James Byrd Jr in 1998, will run February 6, 7, and 10th at the Hudson Guild Theater in New York City.

Andrew Schneider to Receive 2014 Tom Murrin Performance Award


Dixon Place has announced the recipient of the 2014 (second annual) Tom Murrin Performance Award, a.k.a. 'The Tommy.' Intended to a transformative career opportunity to an early career NYC-based artistic or company, this year's award will be presented to Andrew Schneider, a performance / interactive-electronics artist who was previously a seven-year member of the Wooster Group. The second annual Tommy Award presentation will take place at Dixon Place (161a Chrystie Street, New York City) on Sunday, April 27th at 7:30PM. The awards celebration - featuring a special appearance by the 2013 Tommy Award winner, talk-of-the-town performance company ANIMALS, as well as Tom Murrin's wife, Patricia Sullivan -- will be the final stop of a parade of spontaneous outdoor performances, which will commence at closing of the Tom Murrin Full Moon Performance Festival at La Mama. The parade will begin approximately at 6:45pm and travel from East 4th Street to Dixon Place. The Tommy Award party at Dixon Place is FREE, with a cash bar all night.
