Award-winning playwright Gary McNair returns to the Traverse Theatre after his sell-out hit A Gambler's Guide to Dying, and pioneering verbatim work Locker Room Talk, with the World Premiere of Letters to Morrissey, presented by the Traverse Theatre Company in association with Tron Theatre, as part of Traverse Festival 2017.

Produced by Show And Tell, with support from Creative Scotland, Made In Scotland, and the Traverse Theatre, A GAMBLER'S GUIDE TO DYING begins performances on Tuesday, April 4 for a limited engagement through Sunday, April 23.  Press Opening is Sunday, April 9 at 3:30 PM. Traverse Theatre Announces Spring/Summer 2017 Programme

The Traverse announces its Spring/Summer 2017 season today, December 12. The work presented has been selected to directly address a mix of both long-existent and emergent social, political and technological challenges, and comes from some of the most exciting companies in the UK.

This monologue from the enigmatic Scottish performer tells the story of one boy's grandad who won a fortune betting on the 1966 football World Cup and, when diagnosed with cancer, gambled it all on living to see the year 2000. The performance, a story of what we live for and what we leave behind, was a sell-out success at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2015 delighting audiences of all generations with this extraordinary tale. The show has since enjoyed sell-out runs at the Adelaide Fringe in Australia and the prestigious Spoleto Festival in Charleston, USA. Following this UK tour, Gary will perform the show in New York in 2017.

The Traverse announces its Spring season today (7 December 2015), featuring new work from Scotland and beyond. The Traverse is delighted to welcome back Michael Boyd to direct Right Now by Quebecois playwright, Catherine-Anne Toupin, in a translation by Chris Campbell.
