Dennis Kenney, a Boston native and former competitive hockey player, made an early life-changing decision to trade the rink for the stage. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s prestigious Drama Conservatory (BFA in Drama), Dennis went on to earn a Master’s in Communication from Northwestern University as well as a Doctorate of Education in Leadership at Johns Hopkins University.
Dennis built a thriving career as a performer in New York City and beyond. He stepped into the green shoes of the Grinch for the New York press tour and later performed the role on the Broadway National Tour of Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. His favorite stage credits include the Las Vegas company of Mamma Mia!, the 42nd Street Revival Tour, and Mame at the Kennedy Center alongside Christine Baranski and Harriet Harris.
On screen, Dennis has been featured in the CBS Network’s Ethnic Diversity Showcase, which led to roles on Comedy Central, The Young and the Restless, and appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America and other.
Today, Dennis has expanded his career into education, media, and business. He is the CEO and Founder of Ivy Level Speaking, coaching executives, doctoral candidates, and students from institutions such as Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, and NYU Stern. An award-winning TEDx speaker and sought-after communication specialist, Dennis has appeared as an on-air expert for Good Morning America, ABC News, and QVC, and has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, and Yahoo Finance. Drawing on his theatrical roots, fashion industry experience, and global coaching work, he now empowers clients to command the stage—whether it’s in a theater, a boardroom, or on live television.
