Joffrey Ballet Concert Group Tours China for Beijing Dance Academy's 60th Anniversary Gala

Joffrey Ballet Concert Group, the pre-professional performance company of the Joffrey Ballet School, announces their first tour to the People's Republic of China. Fourteen of the troupe's 35 dancers will represent the United States at the Beijing Dance Academy's 60th Anniversary gala performance. The festivities will span two weeks in October, during which time the company dancers will interact with dance companies, artistic directors, choreographers, and dance students from around the globe.
Spring 2015's Elite Dance Tournament to Award Apprenticeship with Complexions Contemporary Ballet

Joffrey Ballet School, a world-renowned dance center offering the most versatile and highest quality training, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet, known for their, partner to launch the first annual Elite Dance Tournament. The new national competition, which is focused on educational empowerment through constructive evaluation, will take place in six cities with a variety of master classes and focus on ballet, jazz and contemporary styles. In its inaugural year, the tournament will provide an apprenticeship with Complexions Dance Company; a full- time position with the Joffrey Concert Group; and $180,000 in cash and scholarships, including $10,000 each for the ultimate dancer, studio and choreographer.
Joffrey Concert Group to Premiere Three New Works with Five Choreographers at New York Live Arts, 5/19-20

Joffrey Concert Group, a pre-professional performance company that prepares dancers for the world stage, will present two evenings of work at New York Live Arts, May 19-20. The troupe of 30 dancers will perform two signature works by Gerald Arpino-Kettentanz (1971), a neoclassical tour de force inspired by Old Vienna, and Light Rain (1981) a sensual evocation of the zeitgeist of the 1970's, performed in full for the first time in New York City since the Joffrey Ballet presented it twenty years ago. In addition, the program features two world premieres by Shawn Hounsell (formerly Royal Winnipeg) and Africa Guzman (former Associate Director of Compania Nacional de Danza under Nacho Duato), with a New York Premiere by Scott Rink (Lar Lubovitch Dance Company).

The New York Philharmonic will present A Dancer's Dream: Two Works by Stravinsky, a multidisciplinary, theatrical reimagining of the ballets The Fairy's Kiss and Petrushka, created by Giants Are Small.
