Chicago Dance Crash to Laugh Off the Past with CRASH YEAR 15

Chicago Dance Crash to Laugh Off the Past with CRASH YEAR 15 ImageChicago Dance Crash and Artistic Director Jessica Deahr will laugh off the past with Crash Year 15, fit for all ages, playing at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave.

One night only, November 18th at 8pm. Crash Year 15 is conceived by Deahr and hosted by Mattrick Swayze, featuring 15 years of choreographers & alumni. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased at www.chicagodancecrash.com or by calling 773.935.6875.

15 years, 25+ performers, unlimited jokes, 2 acts, 1 night.

To highlight the final day of Crash's historical 2017 Season, patrons will enjoy a fast-paced walk down memory lane including excerpts from works choreographed by all artistic directors (former A.D.'s Christopher M. McCray and Kyle Vincent Terry, former interim A.D. Mark Hackman and current A.D. Jessica Deahr) as well as some of the company's favorite guest choreographers Davis Robertson and Nicholas Leichter. The two-act performance will also showcase a massive alumni freestyle as current and former company members show off together and culminate with a new world premiere work by Deahr performed by our 2017 Performance Ensemble.

But the "program" is only half of the fun...

Much like the organization's "Keeper of the Floor" battle show or various audience-involvement productions, Crash Year 15 is leaving plenty of room for host & emcee Mattrick Swayze to call audibles and let the audience get involved (directly) in the celebration.

The cast for Crash Year 15 includes: Company Founders Mark Hackman, Charlie Cutler and Marissa Moritz; artistic director Jessica Deahr and former A.D. Christopher M. McCray; the 2017 Performance Ensemble KC Bevis, David Ingram, Zak McMahon, Kristi Licera, Porscha Spells, Elijah Motley, KElsie Jayne, and Monternez Rezell; Crash alumni Brian Humpherys, Kelsey Reiter, Brian Hare, Monica Weller, Kaitlin Webster, Richard Ashworth, Christopher Courtney, Daniel Gibson...and a few other folks we're keeping secret.

Founded in 2002, Crash has emerged as a critical staple of the local and national scene, engaging audiences and broadening the exposure of contemporary dance. With a unique union of styles both classic and contemporary, including ballet, capoeira, breakdance, acrobatics and contemporary dance, Dance Crash burst onto the scene in its first season with the new and innovative movement play concept and has grown to receive critical acclaim throughout its 15 years of groundbreaking dance.

Chicago Dance Crash invites you to Crash Year 15, a two-act performance fit for all ages, playing at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave. one night only on November 18th at 8pm.Tickets are $30 at www.ChicagoDanceCrash.com or by calling 773.935.6875.
