The Indie Collaborative is returning to Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall at 8pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, and it promises an inspiring evening of harmony through diversity. Two dozen multi-talented award-winning artists from the Indie Collaborative will be coming together to celebrate Earth Day in song.

Producers David Maldonado and Juan Toro announced today the Off Broadway premiere of La Barbería (The Barbershop), a new Spanglish comedic drama by David Maldonado (Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz, Quien Mato A Hector Lavoe) and Ari Maniel Cruz.

Producers David Maldonado and Juan Toro announced today the Off Broadway premiere of La Barbería (The Barbershop), a new Spanglish comedic drama by David Maldonado (Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz, Quien Mato A Hector Lavoe) and Ari Maniel Cruz.

Music director Isidro Infante (who performed with the real Cruz) leads a seven-piece band that accompanies Gathers and the cast in faithful live renditions of the Salsa Queen's repertoire, including 'La Bomba,' Celia's groundbreaking collaboration with Tito Puente which is credited with sparking the popularity of salsa music in the '70s, as well as 'Guantanamera,' 'Químbara,' 'Toro Mata,' 'La Vida es un Carnaval' and dozens more that became universal sensations.

Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz, the Off-Broadway musical celebrating 'The Queen of Salsa' Celia Cruz, will end its New York run at New World Stages on Sunday, May 25th, 2008, to shift the focus to its anticipated world tour, it was announced by the show's producers Henry Cardenas and David Maldonado. Celia began previews on August 28, 2007 and officially opened on September 26, 2007. When it closes, Celia will have played a total of 25 previews and 269 regular performances.

Due to popular response, Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz is extending performances at New World Stages for the holiday season through January 27 2008
