Caroline DeFazio

Caroline (Lina) DeFazio is a queer, multidisciplinary theatre artist based in New York and Rhode Island. As a creative, Lina works as a director, performer, collaborator, playwright, choreographer, dramaturg, and essayist. She has performed at Target Margin Theater, The Brick, The Tank, as well as various other spaces with companies such as Atlantic Theater, MetaPhys-Ed, and Bated Breath Theater co. Her first full-length work was recently presented by Emerging Artists Theater, and two of her one- act plays have been published by Stephen Sondheim's Young Playwrights Inc.

Lina recently graduated from New York University, where she studied at the Experimental Theater Wing and the International Theater Wing in Amsterdam. Her training was focused on physical theater, the development of new works, and collaborative processes. While at NYU, she worked on over a dozen departmental projects, produced two original works, and completed two A grade theses.
In addition to her creative work, Lina works as a freelance production assistant. She has worked with Carnegie Hall, Pregones Theater, DominiRican Productions, George Valencia, and Good Talk Films.
