After a successful year of popular plays and familiar musicals, Fort Salem Theater shares their summer 2022 stage with new writers, debuting both a world premiere musical and a New York premiere of a brand new play. A pure delight! Ah, the Christmas season is upon us! For the theater and ballet-going public, that means numerous productions of Dickens' A Christmas Carol and probably more than a few Nutcracker offerings to choose from. It can get a bit much, admittedly. At Adventure Theatre MTC, in one single production, one can get the traditional mixed with the new. To that end, its world premiere production of Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol stands out from many of the rest even on paper. Adapted from the Charles Dickens classic by Tony Award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig and his son, Jack Ludwig, and directed by one of DC's finest, Jerry Whiddon, this show is a pure delight - and not just for kids.

It is important to promote positive images and feelings to children from a young age. In NextStop Theatre Company's production of 'Miss Electricity,' the focus is to break through negative self esteem and give children the tools and power to appreciate who they are and recognize the people who care about them.

Good effort, but we're not quite there.

Director Evan Hoffman has worked deftly with a strong cast who pop in and out of the action at a brisk, engaging pace. With a special turn by 'Today Show' anchor Kathie Lee Gifford (whose voice work is remarkably good), it's a special evening indeed.
