MCC Theater in collaboration with African Film Festival will present the North American premiere of La femme Anjola, directed by Mildred Okwo and written by Tunde Babalola. The event will take place at MCC Theater (511 W 52nd St) on Sunday November 21 at 6pm. 

Nollywood Dreams, the first production of MCC's 2021-22 season, began previews at the Newman Mills Theater on October 21, 2021. Directed by Saheem Ali (Fires in The Mirror), Nollywood Dreams opened on November 11, 2021 and will play a limited run through November 28, 2021.

MCC Theater announced today that the upcoming engagement of Nollywood Dreams will reunite the entire cast from the 2020 MCC production that was postponed due to the theater shutdown. Nollywood Dreams, the first production of their 2021-22 season, will begin previews in-person at MCC Theater’s Newman Mills Theater on October 21, 2021.

Nollywood Dreams begins performances on Thursday, March 19th, 2020, in the Newman Mills Theater at The Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space (511 West 52nd Street), with official opening night set for Monday, April 13th. On Monday, September 16, 2019, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation announced the 2019 recipients at the annual Off-Off-Broadway IT Awards. For the past 15 years, the It Awards have celebrated the vibrant and creative indie theatre community under the dedicated leadership of Executive Directors Shay Gines and Nick Micozzi who are stepping down and at the ceremony introduced new leadership for the organization: Cat Parker, Artistic Director of Articulate Theatre Company; Ariel Estrada, Producing Artistic Director of Leviathan Lab Projects; and Jazmyn Arroyo, Co-Founding Artistic Director of Step 1 Theatre Project will join Akia Squiteri, Artistic Director of Rising Sun Performance Company as Directors of the organization.

On Monday, July 29, 2019, The New York Innovative Theatre Awards, announced the 2019 nominees for the annual Off-Off-Broadway awards. The It Awards have celebrated the vibrant and creative theatre community for the past 15 years.  The official announcement took place at (Le) Poisson Rouge by six celebrated artists and producers from the community including: Jazmyn Arroyo, Jennifer Betite Yen, Iyvon Edebiri, Chris Ignacio, Ashley Rogers, and Erez Ziv.

The Secret Theatre (Richard Mazda, Artistic Director) and Ript Theater Company (Nathan Winkelstein, Artistic Director) today announced that their 2018-'19 season will kick off with a new adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, which will run September 13th - 30th (7:30 PM evenings, 2:00 PM matinees) at The Secret Theatre (44-02 23rd Street, Long Island City, NY 11101). Red Bull Associate Producer and Ript Theater Company Founder Nathan Winkelstein (Government Inspector), leads an exceptional cast that features Lindsay Alexandra-Carter (Rosalind-The Folger), Ade Otukoya (Shades of Blue), and St Louis Circle Award two time nominee Chauncy Thomas (Labute New Theater Festival). Hamlet is directed by Nathan Winkelstein with sound design by Alan Waters, lighting design by Paul Kennedy and costumes by Sarah Marie Dixey.
