Photo Flash: In Rehearsal with Playwrights Horizons' A LIFE


Playwrights Horizons will soon present A Life, the world premiere of a new play by Obie Award winner Adam Bock (A Small Fire and The Drunken City at Playwrights, The Receptionist, The Thugs, Swimming in the Shallows). Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Marjorie Prime, Detroit, Maple and Vine at Playwrights; You Got Older; Belleville; This Wide Night; Smokefall), A Life will be the second production of the theater company's 2016/2017 Season.

Horse Trade will present a FRIGID New York production of Battalion Theatre's The Drunken City by Adam Brock, September 11th through 28th at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A). The production will be directed by Emma Johnson and feature Kullan Edberg (The Understudy at The Kraine), Daniel Gonon (Tramp(ed) at the 2012 United Solo Theatre Festival), Gadi Rubin (A User's Guide to Hell with Project Y Theatre Company), and Gerrit Thurston (Straight White Men with Young Jean Lee).

In the first live performance of AMERICAN IDOL's Season 11, the top semi-finalist guys performed live for America's vote. Kesselring Prize for Playwriting announced by National Arts Club


Playwright Deb Margolin -- author of the plays 'Three Seconds in the Key,' 'Bringing the Fisherman Home' and 'Rock Scissors Paper' -- is the recipient of the $15,000 '2005 Kesselring Prize' for playwriting, it has been announced by O. Aldon James, president of The National Arts Club, which presents the Kesselring each year to an emerging American playwright. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Kesselring Prize.
