Next month, The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol (806 San Marino Drive, The Villages, FL) will conclude its inaugural season with Proof, the award-winning drama by David Auburn.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Tony, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama Desk Awards' Playwright, David Auburn's Proof currently holds the record for the longest running Broadway play of the 21st century. Come see the play that has garnered more awards and critical praise than any other play of its time. Catherine is the daughter of a brilliant, but mentally disturbed mathematician, trying to come to grips with her possible inheritance: both his brilliance and his insanity.

Playing the lead role of Catherine is Jill Jones, who has performed throughout Central Florida. Jones has a Bachelor of Theatre Arts Degree from Rollins College. She is the Co-Founder of the Online Magazine: I Love Central Florida. Steve Schneider of Orlando Weekly raved of her Stop Kiss performance, "She uses her comforting cadences and guileless demeanor to make Sara an emotionally accessible agent of change. It's a portrayal that could easily descend into cloying Pollyanna-isms, but that never happens." Her other credits include Marjorie in Extremities and Olivia in Twelfth Night.

Playing her father, Robert, is Lon Ward Abrams. Abrams has been involved in Professional Theatre for over 60 years as a Director, Stage Manager, Writer, and Actor in Florida as well as Georgia and New York, where he was born and raised. Now in Central Florida, Abrams resides in The Villages and has performed in 6 shows with The Villages Theatre Company, prior to working for The Studio Theatre. Among his favorite roles includes playing Elyot in Private Lives, which is a play that has coincidently graced The Studio's stage during this inaugural season. Abrams also worked under Bulgarian Director Prodan Dimov, in which he performed at the International Theatre Festival in Russia. A critic wrote of his performance as Henry ll in The Lion in Winter, "Abrams was meant to play a king on stage. He has, among other things, a dandy bellow."

No stranger to The Studio stage is the theatre's Artistic Director and Actress Whitney Morse, who will play the part of Catherine's sister, Claire. The cast also includes Nicu Brouillette, who has played the violin in the Studio's pit for Next to Normal and The Last 5 Years, and will now be playing the part of Hal. The Creative Team is composed of Producer Jason Goedken, Director Trevin Cooper, Technical Director Preston Speaker, Set Designer Kenneth Constant, Lighting Designer Weston Corey, Sound Designer Eric Mielke, Costume Designer Seth Stelly, Master Electrician Dan Hopper, Scenic Artist Virginia McKinney, Production Manager Heather Ard, Stage Manager Abigale Bobb, and Production Assistant Amber Sacks, as well as House Manager Grace Petty and Assistant House Manager Josh Kimball.
