Mayor Teresa Jacobs Performs in The Garden Theatre's THE MUSIC MAN Tonight, 5/12

The Garden Theatre presents The Music Man, running now thru May 27, 2012, at the Garden Theatre (160 W Plant St). Several Central Florida personalities have joined on to perform cameo appearances. Today, the show welcomes Mayor Teresa Jacobs.

A special mezzanine reception will take place tonight, May 12 at 7pm for Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs at the Garden Theatre.

The Music Man follows up The Sound of Music last season as the third self-produced musical in as many years at the Garden Theatre. The large cast of 60 performers and dozens of crew members allow for a great deal of community involvement. The production team began work on set design, choreography, and scene-blocking in the fall. In addition, crew and community volunteers have been working on set construction and painting since January. The Garden Theatre depends heavily on volunteers to help patrons the night of the show. In all, over 200 people are in some way involved in this Garden Theatre production.

Located in the heart of historic downtown Winter Garden on Plant Street, the Garden Theatre is a not-for- profit community organization committed to enriching, engaging, and entertaining through creative experiences. The theatre, which reopened 2008, showcases an atmospheric theatre in a Mediterranean Revival style venue. The Garden Theatre hosts live plays, concerts, movies, film festivals and more to the residents of and visitors to the city of Winter Garden.
