The Moody Blues bass player and vocalist, John Lodge, is delighted to bring his first ever Solo tour to the King Center. Following the release of '10,000 Light Years Ago' (his second solo album) in 2015, John jumped at the opportunity to put a band together, and take the new music to the stage. The album has received critical acclaim, and In My Mind was nominated for Anthem of the Year in Prog Mag, and concerts in the UK brought the audience to their feet.

As a member of The Moody Blues since 1966, John Lodge has spent much of his life touring the world as part of a 'rock n roll band'. His first solo album was released 38 years ago in 1977, but was never played live. When asked what has taken him so long to get his own show on the road, John was quick to point out, with a smile, that he has been busy with his "other band", and making wine!

Joining John on stage will be his 10,000 Light Years Band, including long time collaborators Alan Hewitt (Keyboards) and Norda Mullen (Flute) from the Moody Blues; Gordon Marshall (Drums), formerly Moody Blues; 20 time Detroit Music Award nominee guitarist Duffy King (Guitar) and Jared Burnett (Six-string Violin). This band has been put together for these USA dates, and together they will be creating an amazing sound that will bring John's solo album '10,000 Light Years Ago', and his songs from the Moody Blues to life in a way you've never heard before.

During his remarkable career, John Lodge has sold over 70 million albums and received many awards from the ASCAP (American Society Of Composers & Publishers). Lodge has also won a Soundtrack Of The Year Award, been voted one of the 10 most influential bass players on the planet, and won an Ivor Novello Award. This is your chance to see him up close and personal in the intimate setting of the Studio Theatre.

DICK DALE

In the King Center Studio Theatre

Saturday, April 15, 8 p.m.

Tickets on Sale Friday, December 16 at Noon

Tickets starting at $54 (inclusive of fees)

Produced by Elko Concerts

The Dick Dale Phenomenon. His style is something different and unique. Since his first appearances in Balboa, California at the famed Rendezvous Ballroom, he has set and broken attendance records everywhere he's performed. Dick Dale invented surf music in the 1950's. He was given the title "King of the Surf Guitar" by his fellow surfers with whom he surfed from sun-up to sun-down. He met Leo Fender, the guitar and amplifier Guru, and Leo asked Dale to play his new creation, the Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar. The minute Dale picked up the guitar, Leo Fender broke into uncontrolled laughter and disbelief. He was watching Dale play a right handed guitar upside down and backwards. Being completely self-taught, he was playing a right handed guitar left handed and changing the chords in his head then transposing the chords to his hands to create a sound never heard before. It is a phenomena that Dale is still playing with not only the same vengeance as he did in the 50's, but his playing is unleashed and shredding into the 90's with a focus and power as if from Mother Nature. He shares the stage with fellow players of all generations up into the alternatives of the 90's. Dale is also a master at the Acoustic, Electronic, Bass and Spanish Guitars.
