GIGOLO Adds Performance Due to Demand ImageThe Winter Park Playhouse has been playing to sold out performances of their World Premiere of Gigolo: The New Cole Porter Revue and has added a performance on Friday August 17 at 2 p.m. to meet the strong demand.

This exceptional new work was featured in the theatre's inaugural Florida Festival of New Musicals last summer, and now takes the stage for its first fully produced run July 27 - August 19. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Saturday matinee performances at 2 p.m. and select Friday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Created by Paul Gilger, with music arrangements and orchestrations by Ned Wilkinson, Gigolo: The New Cole Porter Revue tells the story of a handsome playboy and his relationships with four beautiful women. Inspired by the real life story of Porfirio Rubirosa, this musical revue tells its intricate story through Cole Porter's lyrics. Gigolo features a score of popular Porter classics including "It's De-Lovely," "You're The Top," "Let's Do It," "Night And Day,"and many more! Theatre critics are raving about the new production.

The professional cast includes Broadway veteran Melissa Minyard, Actors' Equity veterans Natalie Cordone, Kelly Morris Rowan and Zach Nadolski, and Playhouse newcomer Alyssa Flowers. Playhouse Artistic Director Roy Alan directs and choreographs and Christopher Leavy music directs. The Playhouse Trio accompanies with Musical Director Christopher Leavy on piano, Sam Forrest on percussion and Ned Wilkinson on multiple instruments.

"One of the missions of The Winter Park Playhouse is to keep musical theatre viable. Producing a brand new work on its way to New York is very exciting, and helps nurture the art of musical theatre. Audiences have fallen in love the Cole Porter score and the professional cast is outstanding! Don't miss your chance to see this original work with a score of classics! We have added a show Friday August 17 at 2p.m. to meet the demand," confirms Roy Alan, co-founder and Playhouse Artistic Director.

Ticket prices are $42 evenings, $39 senior evenings, $34 matinees, $20 preview, $15 student and theatrical industry professionals. Student rush "$10@10" offers $10 tickets (for students 25 years and younger) 10 minutes prior to a performance when seats are available.
