DayStar Studio Productions has announced that the groundbreaking rock musical SPRING AWAKENING will play at the Alexis and Jim Pugh Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts June 19 through 26.

Tickets to SPRING AWAKENING at the Dr. Phillips Center go on sale Friday, May 6, at 10AM. Tickets can be purchased at DrPhillipsCenter.org, by calling 844-513-2014, or by visiting the Dr. Phillips Center box office located at 445 South Magnolia Avenue in downtown Orlando.

Just as on Broadway, the show will have a limited number of on-stage seats available for purchase. These seats provide an exciting and unique way for guests to experience the performance with the action of the show taking place all around them.

Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, SPRING AWAKENING follows a group of young students as they navigate through teenage self-discovery and coming of age anxiety. Set against the backdrop of a repressive and provincial late 19th century Germany, SPRING AWAKENING is a powerful celebration of youth and rebellion.

Based on the infamous 1891 Frank Wedekind play, the landmark musical is a stirring combination of morality, sexuality and rock & roll that is exhilarating audiences across the nation like no other musical in years. SPRING AWAKENING features an award-winning and electrifying story with a score by Duncan Sheik, book and lyrics by Steven Sater, and original direction and choreography by Michael Mayer and Bill T. Jones, respectively.

In a nod toward the innovative nature of SPRING AWAKENING, this DayStar production brings together a multicultural cast and creative team, featuring diverse talent from multiple nationalities and backgrounds.

"It was important to us to showcase the talent of so many people that tend to be under-represented in theater and on Broadway," said Luz Estella Orrego, Communoty Outreach Director for DayStar Studios Productions. "Shows like Hamilton and others are helping to blur the racial lines that exist in the entertainment industry, so we're incredibly proud of this amazingly talented, diverse group of people coming together to breathe life into this production."

Starring in DayStar's production of SPRING AWAKENING is Anton Häggblom as Melchior Gabor and Noa Carmel playing the role of Wendla Bergmann. Moritz Stiefel will be portrayed by Danny Harris Kornfield, with Ashley Marie Lewis as Ilse Neumann and Chase Riner as Hänschen Rilow. Rounding out he cast are Trevor Starr as Georg Zirschnitz, Luis Gabriel Diaz as Ernst Röbel, Juan David Robayo as Otto Lämmermeier, Kayla Alvarez as Martha Bessel, Amelia Bryant as Anna, Lauren Brown as Thea and Caisey Cole as Greta, with Lyle Moon playing the Adult Men and Wendy Strarkand as the Adult Women.
