Bay Street Players' CAMELOT Opens July 6

By:

Bay Street Players opens the final production of its 37th season on July 6 with the immortal Camelot, music by Frederick Loewe, book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. Based on the T.H. White novel The Once and Future King, Camelot tells the tale of King Arthur, Queen Guenevere, and the faithful and brave Sir Lancelot.

Artistic Director, David W. Clevinger, directed the play and designed the set. The cast features Ben and Stephanie Adams as the king and queen, and Richard Morrissey, well-remembered from last year’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie as Sir Lancelot. Beau Mahurin returns as musical director, and will conduct a live musical ensemble.

The original 1960 production, directed by Moss Hart, won four Tony Awards and spawned several revivals, and a film version.

Camelot will run through July 28. Performances are held at the Historic State Theatre, 109 North Bay Street, Eustis, Fla. Tickets may be ordered on line at www.baystreetplayers.org or by calling the Box Office at 352-357-7777. Tickets are $20 for adults (except on Wednesday and Thursday performances, when they are $17), $10 for students.
