Opera Omaha, Ballet Nebraska and More to Join Kristin Chenoweth in Omaha Performing Arts' CELEBRATE 10 Concert

The full lineup of the CELEBRATE 10 CONCERT starring Kristin Chenoweth has been announced. The concert on October 16, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Holland Performing Arts Center and 10 full seasons of performances presented by Omaha Performing Arts.

The CELEBRATE 10 CONCERT will feature Emmy- and Tony Award-winning Chenoweth performing with a big band. The evening will also include performances by local performing arts groups: Opera Omaha, Ballet Nebraska, the Omaha Symphony and Salem Baptist Church. Additional performances will be by the aerial dance company BANDALOOP and acclaimed composer and musician Daniel Bernard Roumain.

Sixteen participants from the first two years of the Nebraska High School Theatre Awards program will perform at the event, as well. They are: David Beran, Doane College (alum of Gretna High School and 2014 NHSTA National Nominee); Emma Kate Brown, Elkhorn South High School (2015 NHSTA National Nominee); Matthew Hakel, Lincoln Southwest High School; Noah Jeffery, Creighton Preparatory High School; Lauren Johnson, Bellevue West High School; Madeline Lacey, Nebraska Wesleyan University (alum of Blair High School); Nora Larson, Lincoln Southeast High School; Ryan McCann, Omaha William Jennings Bryan High School; Matthew Pohlman, V. J. & Angela Skutt Catholic High School; Josie Ptacek, Plattsmouth High School; Karen Richards, University of Nebraska Lincoln (alum of West Point Central Catholic High School); Ally Sargus, Papillion LaVista High School; Ryan Savage, Elkhorn High School; Jonathan Smith, Omaha Northwest High School; Scott Strigenz, Platteview High School; and Nadia Williams, Omaha Burke High School.

Kristin Chenoweth's career spans film, television, voiceover and stage. Broadway lovers know her for originating the role of Glinda the Good Witch in WICKED, and her Tony-winning performance in YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN. She was also co-host of the 2015 Tony Awards, and was also a nominee. She received an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work on the ABC series PUSHING DAISIES, as well as nominations for her work on GLEE. Her recent films include RIO and RIO 2, THE BOY NEXT DOOR, OPPOSITE SEX, HARD SELL and Disney Channel's live-action original movie DESCENDANTS.

A pioneer in vertical dance performance, BANDALOOP seamlessly weaves dynamic physicality, intricate choreography and the art of climbing to turn the dance floor on its side. Founded by choreographer and artistic director Amelia Rudolph, BANDALOOP's work has been presented in theaters and museums, on skyscrapers, bridges, billboards and historical sites, in atriums and convention halls, in nature on cliffs, and on screen.

Daniel Bernard Roumain's (DBR) acclaimed work as a composer and performer spans more than two decades, and has been commissioned by venerable artists and institutions worldwide. Known for his signature violin sounds infused with a myriad of electronic and urban music influences, DBR takes his genre-bending music beyond the proscenium.

Now celebrating its 95th season, the Omaha Symphony, resident orchestra of the Holland Center, is an essential resource for live performances, musical entertainment and education, and community enrichment. Opera Omaha, the only professional opera company in Nebraska, began in 1958 as the Omaha Civic Opera Society, a volunteer association. Ballet Nebraska is the region's resident professional dance company - bringing the beauty, athleticism, and energy of ballet to Nebraska and Iowa audiences. Founded in 1922, Salem Baptist Church has played an important role in the city's religious community. Omaha Performing Arts' Nebraska High School Theatre Awards program celebrates and supports musical theatre education in Nebraska high schools.
