Life in Oz isn't quite the same after the Wizard and Dorothy leave. A steadfast General and her Girl Army threaten to conquer all of Oz as a unique group of strangers work together to find out who the true ruler is. Join us for some slap-stick humor, Vaudevillian talent, and a twist ending you won't see coming in this sequel to the Wizard of Oz dramatized by Elizabeth Fuller Goodspeed.

Participants have had the opportunity to experience lessons in in acting, movement and voice, while incorporating these techniques in a professional rehearsal setting, directed by theater professionals from The Rose.

"Students have had the opportunity to improve their own individual performance techniques to understand the entire show process and to work together as an ensemble," said co-directors Kendra Gliem and Caulene Hudson.

The students are all very passionate about acting and learning, and this experience helped them to further that passion. "I loved coming to rehearsal every day, and the other students helped make the whole experience fun" said student Allison Arkfeld.

Throughout the class, the directors aim to teach these students through the art of acting, while preparing the students for a full-length production. In the end, Land of Oz promises to be a fantastic experience.

Part of this class involved learning how to get into character for a show. The students started by getting their own roles for the show, and with each rehearsal came new knowledge of how to adapt and feed off of the energy of your fellow actors.

The cast of Land of Oz includes Allison Arkfeld, Tanner Bryant, Landon Creighton, Madelyn Holmes, Nahed "Cupcake" Hudson, Frankie Miller, Martina Perversi, Jacob Pietro, Darrian Plebanek, Megan Rannells, Emily Schmid, Sydney "Kiwi" Schmid, Clara "Mochi" Schroeder, Megan "Megs" Venter and Banyan "Tree" Williams.

Land of Oz will be presented in The Rose Theater's Hitchcock Theater on Thursday, December 14 at 7 pm, Saturday, December 16 at 5 pm and Sunday, December 17 at 5 pm.
