The Playmakers-Grove Present SEUSSICAL, JR. 7/24 Thru 8/2
The Playmakers-Grove's Off Broadway Troupers' summer musical, Seussical, Jr., opens Friday, July 24 and runs for eight performances through August 2.
The Summer Youth Theatre will present a double bill of two one-acts. The headlining play will be Seussical, Jr. (a shorter version of Seussical the Musical) with book, music & lyrics by Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty. The show will bring to life on stage the major Seuss characters and the citizens of both the Jungle of Nool and Whoville. The opening play will be Noodle Doodle Box by German playwright, Paul Maar. It is a very funny, allegorical play about friendship and cooperation and will showcase three young comic actors.
The cast of some twenty young people being directed by Suzanne Boles with vocal direction by Nancy Flowers include: Micah Davis, Petra Davis, Riah Davis, Riley DuBois, Audrey Elmore, Hailee Gwin, Maryanne Hangartner, Mikayla Headings, Jasmine Johnson, Hailey Keith, Makayla Keith, Katie Kolczun, Emma Lawson, Dylan Robertson, Courtney Smith, Maceon Smith, Mason Standlee, Kaden Tackkett, Kennedy Tackkett, and Kaemon Wilkison.
Discounted ticket prices are $11.50 for adults (reg. $13.50) and $5.50 for students, K-12, (reg. $6.75). A "free night" will be offered by The Playmakers for the first time, Thursday, July 23. It is only for those who have never been to a production at The Playmakers theatre and is part of a National Theatre project.
The Grove Community Playmakers, Inc., was founded by Suzanne and Jim Boles in 1995 and presented its first production, The Music Man, that July. Its success convinced the participants that there was a place for theatre in the Grand Lake area.
At The Playmakers, 121 W. 3rd St., Grove, OK.
