Playhouse Theatre Presents HOWIE THE ROOKIE And SHINING CITY In Repertory, 3/16-3/19
This spring, The Playhouse Theatre Tulsa will perform an Irish Repertory of Mark O'Rowe's Howie the Rookie and Conor McPherson's Shining City. Howie will be directed by Chris Crawford, and Shining City will be directed by Courtneay Sanders. Both shows will be performed interchangeably from Mar. 16-19.
Howie the Rookie is a white-knuckle ride through a nightmare Dublin, where enemies and allies are interchangeable, where the most brutal events take on a mythic significance. The play stars Cody Shelton (Boy Gets Girl, Romeo & Juliet) as the Howie and Seth Harman (Love Song, House & Garden, Lilly's Purple...) as the Rookie. In the contemporary ghost story Shining City, McPherson explores what it means to lose faith in God, in relationships and in one's self. It stars Chris Crawford (Macbeth, House & Garden, I Love You Because) as Ian, Cody Daigle (Playhouse debut) as John, Brittany Wilson (Love Song, Lilly's Purple..., Lend Me a Tenor) as Neasa and Jonathan Schrader (Romeo & Juliet) as Laurence.
Both plays are suggested for mature audiences and will play at the Charles E. Norman Theatre in the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, located at 110 E 2nd St. Howie the Rookie will play Mar. 17 at 7:30 and Mar. 19 at 2:00. Shining City will play Mar. 16, Mar. 18-19 at 7:30.
