Nightingale Theatre Presents AN ADULT FAIRYTALE, Now thru 6/9
No Walls Entertainment Group, in fellowship with Diversity Arts Association of Oklahoma, presents An Adult Fairytale - Hope Wears Sturdy Shoes, tonight, May 31, June 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9. Curtain at 7:00PM, Sundays at 2:00PM - $15.
Each character is faced with overcoming fear and failure, impending death and the difficulties of daily living. Fear is common to each character's experience but the contrast of how they each live with dignity creates the theme of our modern-day, adult fairytale. Each character creates their own strategy as they learn to grow through manipulation, cancer, or bipolar disorder. Adding to the natural difficulty of their struggle is the rigorous enforcement of the cultural expectations within the particular species of animal, bird, angelic, or human to which they belong. Because this is a costume drama the main reference to the bird, angelic, or animal is represented by the costumes and applied masks. The characters themselves are complex and add reality to this play. King Melancholy and Queen Mania, the rulers of the Land of Bipolar, along with the Queen's Mother Obligation, will have you believing in fairy tales.
No Walls Entertainment Group in association with DAAO is a gathering of individuals dedicated to unifying our community through diversity, arts, fellowship, and education. We strive for excellence in performance and creation of a positive image of ourselves, our community, and our society as a whole.
