Oklahoma's favorite holiday tradition LYRIC'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL, presented by Devon Energy, is returning for the 2015 holiday season. Running December 2 through 27 this year at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's Plaza Theatre, Lyric is producing another beautiful rendition of the classic tale. Many cast members from past year's productions of the show are returning to reprise their roles.

"This play has delighted and touched thousands of Oklahoma families over its five year run," said Michael Baron, Lyric's producing artistic director. "We're thankful to Devon Energy for their continued support of this production, and excited to bring back many of the adult cast for this year's edition. I know that this holiday season's version will be extra special as we celebrate the fifth year of our production."

Christopher Bloch, who has played Scrooge in Lyric's 2013 and 2014 productions of the show, will reprise his role as the fabled miser. New to the cast this year is Marilyn Govich as the Ghost of Christmas Present. Govich, a professor of voice at the University of Central Oklahoma, was recently seen as Miss Andrews in Lyric's production of MARY POPPINS. Reprising their roles in the show for the fifth year in a row are Tom Huston Orr ,Matthew Alvin Brown, Thomas E. Cunningham, Susan Riley, Mateja Govich, Lexi Windsor, Melissa Griffith, Brenda Williams, and Charlie Monnot. In addition to the adult company, two casts of talented local children will also appear in the show on alternate nights.

Lyric's version of classic Charles Dickens tale incorporates magical elements such as a ghost gliding above the heads of the audience, snow falling on stage and in the audience, and glorious traditional carols sung by the cast. LYRIC'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL is performed Wednesday through Sunday at Lyric's Plaza Theatre, located at 1727 NW 16th Street, from December 2 through 27. An exact performance schedule, with times, can be found on Lyric's website, LyricTheatreOKC.com
