The Lyric at the Civic Center has announced its schedule of upcoming productions for the 2010 season.

Pump Boys & Dinettes - June 22 - 26, 2010

Tuesday - Saturday, 8pm; Saturday Matinee, 2pm

This toe-tapping show is a charming musical tribute to life along the open road. The pump boys sell high octane fuel on North Carolina's Highway 57 and the sassy dinettes, Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, run the Double Cupp Diner next door. Between changing tires and baking pies, the gang performs a rousing, down-home mix of country western, rock 'n roll, and blues in this charming tale of friendship, romance and life's simple pleasures.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - July 6 - 10, 2010

Tuesday - Saturday, 8pm; Saturday matinee - 2pm

Take your family on a wild, fantastical ride, as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang soars into the Civic Center for its Oklahoma premiere. Based on the book by Ian Fleming and much loved 1968 film starring Dick Van Dyke, the incredible adventures of this out-of-the-ordinary car that flies through the air and sails the seas is reaching a new generation through an enthralling and enchanting stage musical. With unforgettable songs and special effects, it is sure to be your family's favorite new Broadway hit!

42nd Street - July 20 - 24, 2010

Tuesday - Saturday, 8pm; Saturday Matinee - 2pm

"Come and meet those dancing feet" as Lyric brings to the stage one of the greatest dance musicals of all time. Get caught up in the excitement of the young chorus girl Peggy Sawyer, who arrives on Broadway with wide eyes and high hopes. Set during the Depression Era, 42nd Street celebrates the romance and magic of showbiz with musical theatre classics in the biggest musical extravaganza of the year.

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story - August 3 - 7, 2010

Tuesday - Saturday, 8pm; Saturday Matinee, 2pm

In 1959, the life of the man who forever changed the face of popular music was tragically cut short. Today, this smash hit musical tells the story of Buddy Holly and his incredible rise to fame in a show that features over twenty of his greatest songs including "Peggy Sue", "That'll Be The Day", "Oh Boy", "Everyday", Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba", and the Big Bopper's "Chantilly Lace". This high-energy, infectious rock-n-roll musical will leave you with a smile on your face and a spring in your step.
