Edinburgh Fringe Hit To Play OKC Concert In Outdoor Reading On Friday, August 17, local actor Sheridan McMichael will present a reader's theater production of actor-playwright Chris Davis's Bortle 8, featuring a live, original score by quirkpop musician Jarvix, at Perle Mesta Park Amphitheater, 1901 North Lee Avenue. The event will begin at 8:00 PM with an opening set by Norman violinist Sarah Reid. Admission is free and open to the public, though donations are encouraged.

Bortle 8 premiered in 2014 at Philadelphia's Simpatico Theatre before playing the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it was reviewed as a "tour-de-force of spoken word rhythms and stream of consciousness wordplay.

" The one-man show finds its speaker in the wake of yet another failed relationship. Wielding a metaphorical take on the concept of light pollution, he embarks on "a search for true darkness," journeying to the depths of the ocean and into the night sky in hopes of finding the last untouched place on earth: his own mental and emotional clarity. In their outdoor setting, attendees of this production will find themselves similarly transported, as the evening sun gives way to Mesta Park's artificial light.
