The Scarlet Letter opens April 1st- Nathaniel Hawthorne's magnum opus that explores sin, hypocrisy and society is vividly re-imagined in this sexually charged tale of obsession and revenge. Set in Puritan times, it is the story of Hester Prynne who gives birth after committing adultery, is forced to wear a scarlet letter "A," and struggles to create a new life for herself and her child. The play by Phyllis Nagy has a decidedly contemporary slant that is told from the point of view of Pearl, Hester Prynne's now grown and highly spirited daughter. It's a brilliant, unusual adaptation of "the greatest American novel."

THE SCARLET LETTER will be staged at the Bricktown Hotel and Convention Center, which is located at 2001 E. Reno at the intersection of Reno and Martin Luther King. The venue has easy highway access. Theatergoers may exit I-40 at Eastern/M.L. King and proceed north on M.L. King. The Bricktown Hotel and Convention Center is the first business on the east side of the street. Full bar services will be available for patrons to enjoy prior to the performance and at intermission.

Please Note: Due to a last-minute scheduling conflict at the hotel, we've had to cancel the April 14-17 performances of THE SCARLET LETTER. We've added extra performances on April 7, 10, and 24. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have purchased tickets for the cancelled dates, the box office should have already contacted you to reschedule - please call the box office at (405) 232-6500 if you have any questions.
