Auditions 6/8 & 6/10 for 2010 Tulsa Shakespeare Festival

By:

Audition information has been announced for the 2010 Tulsa Shakespeare Festival.

4 male and 5 female actors are needed. To audition, actors must prepare a 30 second selection from any Shakespeare play OR one duet scene that is no longer than 2 minutes.

Auditions will take place on Tuesday, June 8 and Thursday, June 10th from 7:00om to 9:30pm. If callbacks are needed, they will take place on Saturday, June 12. Auditions will be held at Harwelden, 2210 South Main Street, around back.

Please email http://mce_host/admin/info@tulsashakespearefestival.com for a specific audition time.

The Tulsa Shakespeare Festival will be producing Romeo and Juliet during its inaugural run in August of 2010. Some actors will play multiple roles. The role of Mercutio has been cast.

The Festival performance is on Saturday, August 28th, at 8pm. Other promotional performances will occur through the month of August.

VERY IMPORTANT: You will not be allowed to audition without providing a list of all possible and potential conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. Again, if you arrive at the audition without a list of conflicts on paper (or an assurance that you have none), you will not be allowed to audition. Not all cast members will be called to all rehearsals. The rehearsal schedule will be built around the conflicts of the cast and crew. The schedule in full will be distributed at the first rehearsal.

Auditioners should include even potential-but-unconfirmed conflicts in their list. Examples include: "I might have a meeting on July 5th that would run long," "I may be called out of town for a couple of days around the 12th," "I don't get out of work until 6:30 and can't be at rehearsal until 7:30," or "I take my kids to _____ each Saturday morning and can't rehearse then." None of these are unworkable conflicts if we know ahead of time. Accurate conflict lists will ensure that we create a schedule that fits the entire cast.

Rehearsals will occur on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm and on Saturday mornings and afternoons. Rehearsals will begin June 21st. Again, not all cast members will be called to every rehearsal.

The Cast will be notified and the list posted the week of June 14th.

The Tulsa Shakespeare Festival is a not-for-profit arts organization whose mission is to provide quality, professional theatrical events in a family-friendly festival setting.
