Today, marriage equality is the law of the land and, for many LGBT Americans, being gay is no longer a well-kept secret. But it wasn't always THAT WAY. As John Domani, an accountant turning 60, looks back on the "spreadsheet" of his life, he realizes that for most of his life he's kept two sets of "books" - but only one of them was open.

John shares 50 years of hilarious, poignant memories, from the silence of the 60s to dealing with his devoutly religious mother, a health crisis, a longtime relationship that fate keeps impeding, and more.

Leading the cast is ADAM B. SHAPIRO as John, JANICE HALL as Mrs. Domani, BRIAN CHARLES ROONEY as Ben, JENNIFER FOUCHE as Sue, and KLEA BLACKHURST as Missy. THAT WAY presents a tuneful, panoramic portrait of the past, one that John desperately needs to accept before he can face the future.
