CP2 Readers Theatre is an exciting series at County Players which offers an opportunity for actors, directors, and audience members to experience theater in a fresh way: selected plays with full dramatic readings, no costumes, no sets, no props, and the actors perform with scripts in hand. These shows are an incredible opportunity to experience great theater stripped to its essence: the playwrights words.
Reading #1- Mary's Wedding by Stephen Massicotte will be presented Friday, December 3 at 8pm, and Saturday December 4 at 2pm, directed by Christine Crawfis. A love story set against the backdrop of World War I, Marys Wedding is an epic, unforgettable story of love, hope, and survival, a moving memorial to both the Great War and great love. The talented cast includes Mike Boden, Steavie Hergenrader Reed, and Parker Reed.
Reading #2- "Molly Sweeney" by Brian Freil will be presented Saturday, December 4 at 8pm, and Sunday, December 5 at 2pm. Directed by Cindy Topps it tells the story of its title character, Molly, a woman blind since infancy, who undergoes an operation to try to restore her sight. The play tells Molly's story through monologues by three characters: Molly, her husband Frank, and her surgeon, Mr. Rice. This reading features the local talents of Kaela Altman, Craig Browne, and Thomas Byrne.
64th Season Sponsor is Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. CP2 Readers Theatre Series is supported by Silver Sponsor, Stewarts Shops, and Bronze Sponsor, Paggi Engineering.
