Razom for Ukraine will present the inaugural Ukrainian Drama Showcase May 7–10, 2026 at Flamboyan Theater, located within the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural & Educational Center. The festival will feature six Ukrainian plays in English translation presented as staged readings.

The program includes both contemporary and classic works, spanning a range of styles and themes. The showcase is designed to introduce U.S. audiences to Ukrainian theater, presenting texts that reflect different periods, perspectives, and forms of storytelling.

Program

The festival will present three full-length works translated by Nina Murray: A Harvest Truce by Serhiy Zhadan, directed by Danilo Gambini; The Blue Rose by Lesia Ukrainka, directed by Rory Pelsue; and The Order of Neatly Made Beds by Lena Lagushonkova, directed by Jillian Jetton.

Short plays include Balance by Alina Sarnatska, directed by S. Dylan Zwickel; The Chronicles of the Lost Soul by Anna Halas, directed by Lita Lofton; and New York, Donetsk, Ukraine: 100° F by Oleksandr Zhuhan, directed by Yibin Wang.

Playwright Alina Sarnatska will travel from Ukraine to attend the showcase.

Artists

The creative team includes directors Danilo Gambini, Jillian Jetton, Rory Pelsue, Lita Lofton, Yibin Wang, and S. Dylan Zwickel.

The cast features Benjamin Anthony Anderson, Sebastián Arroyo, Carl Bindman, Marié Botha, Nadia Brown, Brandon Burton, Raquel Chavez, Sara Gettelfinger, Jennifer Ikeda, Kineta Kunutu, Florencia Lozano, Sarah Lyddan, Kamilah Mariam, Daniel Mazzarolo, JJ McGlone, Chinelo Okpala, Rory Pelsue, Frankie Placidi, Ned Riseley, Marissa Ruben, Jerilyn Sackler, Adam Shaukat, Derek Smith, Phillip Taratula, and Devin White.

Stage managers are Gabi Benintendi, Madison Figueroa-Diaz, and Cricket Withall, with technical direction by Hesler Garcia.

Festival Information

Performances will take place May 7–10, 2026, with livestreaming available via HowlRound.
