Matt William's New Comedy ACTUALLY, WE'RE F**KED Comes to Cherry Lane

ACTUALLY, WE'RE F**KED, a new play by Matt Williams, will be given its world-premiere production at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St. in Manhattan), with previews starting on February 26 prior to an official opening on March 7, it has been announced by Cherry Lane founder Angelina Fiordellisi and artistic director Seri Lawrence. The play is directed by John Pasquin, with whom Mr. Williams has a long-standing collaboration, including the popular television series "Home Improvement."

The cast of ACTUALLY, WE'RE F**KED features Mairin Lee (THE HEIRESS on Broadway), Keren Lugo (WATER BY THE SPOONFUL), Ben Rappaport (FIDDLER and PICNIC on Broadway) and Gabriel Sloyer (THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES on Broadway).

In ACTUALLY, WE'RE F**KED, four millennials order take-out every Thursday, drink too much wine and argue over how to rescue the planet. They know the world is a dumpster fire, and they're the generation to fix it. That is, until someone makes a life-changing announcement that challenges their beliefs, their relationships and whether babies should have their own Instagram accounts.

The author of numerous plays including BETWEEN DAYLIGHT AND BOONEVILLE (Kennedy Center and Off-Broadway), BRUCE LEE IS DEAD and I'M NOT FEELING TOO GOOD EITHER, and a professor of playwriting at Columbia University, Matt Williams created and produced "Home Improvement," was a writer/producer of "The Cosby Show," and created "Roseanne." He directed the world-premiere musical OPEN HEART and produced THE BUBBLY BLACK GIRL SHEDS HER CHAMELEON SKIN Off-Broadway. His various film credits include WHAT WOMEN WANT, WHERE THE HEART IS, WHAT MEN WANT and THE KEEPING ROOM.

John Pasquin (Director) is a director, and producer of film, television, and theatre. His first play in New York was Michael Weller's Moonchildren, for which he won an Obie. He then worked for Joe Papp at The Public Theatre and the New York Shakespeare Festival, directing original work by John Guare: LANDSCAPE OF THE BODY, with Shirley Knight and Murray Abraham, and Thom Babe's KID CHAMPION, with Chris Walken. In the Park he directed COMEDY OF ERRORS with a cast of clowns, and MEASURE FOR MEASURE, with Meryl Streep and Sam Waterston. He has directed at most East Coast Rep Theaters including Long Wharf, McCarter, Center Stage, & Arena Stage. He was the original Producer/Director for HOME IMPROVEMENT and LAST MAN STANDING and has received a People's Choice Award, and been nominated for three Emmys for his work on "Home Improvement" and "L.A. Law". He has also directed four films including THE SANTA CLAUSE, and MISS CONGENIALITY II.

Mairin Lee (Rachel) made her Broadway debut in THE HEIRESS, directed by Moisès Kaufman. She has performed Off-Broadway in ROMANCE LANGUAGE (Ars Nova), ROMEO AND JULIET (Wheelhouse Theater), and SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER (The Actors Company Theater), among others. Favorite regional credits include ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA (McCarter), SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE (Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival), and IN THE NEXT ROOM, or the vibrator play (Wilma). She has appeared on television in "Madam Secretary," "The Good Wife," and "Elementary," and her film credits include MARCY, ASCENSION, and ZERO ISSUE. She holds an MFA from the American Conservatory Theater.

Keren Lugo (Molly). New York Theater credits: Privacy (The Public Theater), Two Mile Hollow (Women's Project), Sehnsucht (JACK). Regional: WATER BY THE SPOONFUL (Mark Taper Forum), SCENES FROM COURT LIFE (Yale Repertory Theater), WOMEN OF PADILLA (Two River Theater), HENRY V, OUR TOWN (Chautauqua Theater Festival). Keren has an MFA from NYU's Graduate Acting Program. Some NYU credits: CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE, VANYA SONYA MASHA AND SPIKE, THE PLAYBOY OF THE WEST INDIES AND Arthur Miller'S AFTER THE FALL. TV: "The Americans" (FX), "New Amsterdam" (NBC). Keren is beyond proud to have been born and raised in Puerto Rico.

Ben Rappaport (Nick) was last seen on Broadway as Perchik in the revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Previous to that he appeared in PICNIC with Ellen Burstyn directed by Sam Gold. His Off-Broadway credits include: SEX LIVES OF OUR PARENTS(Second Stage), THE GINGERBREAD House (Rattlestick/stageFARM). Regional: Alex Timbers' original production of BLOODY BLOODY Andrew Jackson(Williamstown Theatre Festival). On TV, this Spring he'll be seen in his 2nd season of ABC's Shondaland series FOR THE PEOPLE. He is best known as the star of the NBC series "OUTSOURCED." Additionally, he's been seen in OZARK (NETFLIX), YOUNGER (TV LAND), MR. ROBOT (USA), THE GOOD WIFE (CBS) & ELEMENTARY (CBS). Film credits include: ASK FOR JANE, LANDING UP, BETTER OFF SINGLE, HOPE SPRINGS opposite Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell & THE BRASS TEAPOT. Gabriel Sloyer (Frank) has worked on and off Broadway, but is recently known for appearing on the TV shows "Orange Is The New Black," "Narcos," "Power," "Limitless," "The Blacklist," and "Jessica Jones". He is also a staple of the video game community, having starred in "Red Dead Redemption 2" and "Grand Theft Auto V". Select theater: THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES (Manhattan Theatre Club), PINKOLANDIA! One of the most renowned theatres in the country, Cherry Lane Theatre has produced a large succession of plays by leading writers from F. Scott Fitzgerald to Gertrude Stein, Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee and Harold Pinter. ACTUALLY, WE'RE F**KED will begin its limited run on February 26 and run through April 7, 2019, celebrating its opening night on March 7, 2019. It will playTuesday at 7PM; Wednesday - Friday at 8PM; Saturday at 5PM & 9PM; Sunday at 3PM with an additional performance added on Monday, March 4 at 7PM.
