Kitty and Lina, a new play by Manuel Igrejas will be presented at manhattantheatresource (177 MacDougal Street) April 3 - 26, 2008.

"Kitty came to New York fueled by fantasies of a Manhattan created by Woody Allen. Her day job pays the rent but her evenings are reserved for The Inwood Merry Players, of which she is a charter member. She's still finding her way in the big, grimy playground and sometimes, being a pretty girl isn't all it's cracked up to be," describe press notes, "Lina is on the other end of the ride. An immigrant from Portugal, she escaped her arranged marriage and through pluck, luck and a little on the side, had a career in publishing.  Now retired, she still loves New York but finds there are new challenges for women of a certain age.'

With Kitty and Lina, Manuel Igrejas returns to manhattantheatresource, where his play Shrinkage scored in 2004.   He is familiar to the New York press corps as the longtime publicist for Blue Man Group, Richard Foreman, Elizabeth Streb and Peak Performances, among others.

Kitty and Lina is directed by Lory Henning and stars Jennifer Boutell as Kitty and Marilyn Bernard as Lina.

Kitty and Lina opens on Thursday, April 3 and runs through Saturday, April 26 at manhattantheatresource (177 MacDougal Street, between Waverly Place and West 8th Street; Subway: A/C/E or B/D/F/V to West 4th).

The performance schedule is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm. Admission is $18. Reservations can be made through TheaterMania at 212-352- 3101 or www.theatermania.com.
