Hybrid Theatre Works Presents The Revolution Live-streamed 5/25

By:

After decades of oppressive regimes, youth led revolutions and protests erupted in all corners of the Middle East, demanding change, democracy, and human rights. Access to the Internet became a critical tool for mobilizing, sharing information, broadcasting the live footage worldwide, and soliciting solidarity and media attention.

A bold and innovative theater company has called on artists to share their reactions through original performing and visual art. On May 25, Hybrid Theatre Works presents The Artist Response Forum: "The Revolution Will be Live-streamed." Featuring artists from the US and abroad on the cutting edge of their fields. The audience will witness brand new pieces of theater, dance, video, and visual art that ask the big questions about the implications of these events. The performances will be followed by an after party to spark new conversations and reactions. The event will be live-streamed on the Internet so that it can be experienced by people around the world and audience members will be able to tweet their responses during the event.

Featuring new work by: J.J. El-Far, Tracy Cameron Francis, Myriam Abdelaziz (Egypt),
Sarah Cameron Sunde, Natalie Handal, Khaled Mattawa, Nassim Solliemanpour( Iran), Heather Lanza, Jon Pratt, and more to be announced shortly!

Artists Response Forums are an ongoing series of presentations of new and innovative artists addressing topical social and political matters. Forums bring a diverse range of voices in the performance spectrum together united by the need for a immediate artistic responses to the contemporary issues of our day. Pieces are developed over an expedited two week development process with Hybrid Theatre Works and mounted in site-specific locations.

Hybrid Theatre Works is a theatrical organization working at the intersection of performance and peace-building.For more information visit www.hybridtheatreworks.org
