Horse Trade Theater Group Presents THE CABARET SHOWDOWN

Do you have what it takes to be a cabaret champion? The Cabaret Showdown is now a monthly event taking place every second Sunday of the month at Under St. Marks! Contestants compete for the chance to star in their own show or cabaret. Come out and join the fun! Whether you are a contestant or in the audience you are guaranteed to have a blast. Hosted by Mark McDaniels with accompanist Joshua Stephen Kartes and special guest judges.

Attendees may sign up for a slot to sing at the event. However, we strongly recommend that you pre-register by sending your name and interest to cabaretshowdown@yahoo.com. There is a maximum of 8 contestants and slots will fill up quickly. Winners will receive a free one-hour booking at USM for their own show or cabaret to be performed the following month immediately after the next Cabaret Showdown.

Contestants will be asked to sing selections from various musical categories with no knowledge of what the song will be until right before they sing. All songs will be popular standards and to make things easier each contestant will be given a copy of the sheet music and will be accompanied by a live pianist. Our three judges will choose the winners based on how they interpret their song. We encourage all contestants to simply relax and HAVE FUN!
