Remember the good old days of SATURDAY AFTERNOON DOUBLE-BILL MATINEES? No? Well, RADIOTHEATRE does and we invite you to the season of LIVE STAGE presentations complete with a great cast of storytellers, custom orchestral music and award-winning sound design. Next up - Every SATURDAY at 2pm - we are proud to present the best tales from the legendary LIGHTS OUT CLUB celebrating their 200th ANNIVERSARY!

Enter the dark, narrow portal beneath 94 St. Marks Place! Watch your step as you creep down the rocky stairs into the ancient cellar below where THE LIGHTS OUT CLUB await to frighten you to death with their tales of the unknown, the bizarre, the weird and terrifying! Classic tales to make your blood run cold and mystifying myths and legends about our own fair city! Stories and cast members change often, so come once, come twice...but, don't come alone!

Founded in 1813, THE LIGHTS OUT CLUB began as a group of prominent New Yorkers, including ALEXANDER HAMILTON, who would gather to tell frightening tales in the dark in downtown out of the way places. The exclusive, secretive club has continued on all these years with members from all walks of life including celebrities as diverse as Orson Welles, CASEY STANGEL, Sophie Tucker, LEGS DIAMOND, right up to today's membership. LIGHTS OUT became a well-known radio show in the 40s and moved to early TV. Its over-whelming influence on modern horror literature, film, TV continues as recent members offer us famous tales of terror regarding the area known as ST.MARKS PLACE...which is designated by the American Society of Psychic Research as "the most haunted spot in Manhattan."

Now in its 9th Season, RadioTheatre has presented over 60 shows in NYC, USA tours, nominated for a 2010 Drama Desk Award, 13 New York Innovative Theater Awards; Winner of 2 NYIT Awards; Nominated 5 times for Outstanding Performance Group. For more information visit www.radiotheatrenyc.com.

Tickets ($18) and ($30 for any two titles) are available online at www.horseTRADE.info or by calling 212-868-4444. All performances will be at the UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Ave and Ave A) every Saturday afternoon at 2pm, May 11-July 6.

RADIOTHEATRE is NOT an old time radio show...rather; it relies on the combination of Story Telling, great voices, music and award-winning sound design...as well as, the individual imaginations of its audiences. These primary ingredients are used to provide a memorable, live, theatrical experience. Of course, we do like to add some 21st Century touches...such as cinematic scripts, original orchestral sound tracks that you won't hear anywhere else, a plethora of aural effects and, sometimes, a few visuals, too...creating a unique live production with non-traditional, modern, innovative stage presentation!

HORSE TRADE THEATER GROUP is a self-sustaining theater development group; with a focus on new work that has produced a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater. Horse Trade's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy. It is also the home of FRIGID New York - the first and only festival of its kind in New York City. In 2011 Horse Trade received the New York Innovative Theatre Ellen Stewart Stewardship Award for demonstrating a significant contribution to the Off-Off-Broadway community through service, support and leadership.
