CAP21 Presents CLOAKED Starring Newman, Hager, Thompson et al. 6/8-26

By:

The Theatre Company at CAP21 will present the world premiere of Danny Larsen and Michelle Elliott's new musical CLOAKED from June 8th - June 26th.

CLOAKED is a modern deconstruction of Little Red Riding Hood set in both reality and the virtual world. This psychological suspense thriller follows Tanner O'Connal, a detective in a Cyber Crime division, as he descends further and further into the deep, dangerous, and extraordinarily alluring landscape of the Internet. Boundaries blur as the characters pursue their darkest desires in a desperate attempt to fill their empty hearts.

Directed by Terry Berliner (The Lion King, Tale of the Allergist's Wife), the cast includes Jim Newman (Curtains, Tommy, Steel Pier), Molly Hager (Fat Camp, the upcoming film It's Kind of a Funny Story), Katie Thompson (Michael John LaChiusa's Giant), Gavin Lodge (Spamalot, 42nd Street), Lance Olds (Footloose), Jonathan Todd Ross (Guiding Light), Dawn E. Cantwell (Les Miserables tour), Jackie Washam, Mackenzie Bell (Jersey Boys, Chicago), Myko Olivier, and Jeff Washburn. Music direction by Karl Mansfield (Xanadu, Dracula).

Danny Larsen and Michelle Elliott received both the Richard Rodgers and Daryl Roth Awards for their musical The Yellow Wood, which was presented at the 2007 New York Musical Theatre Festival. They are both alumni of the New York University Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.

The creative team also includes Antje Ellermann (Set Design), Paul Miller (Lighting Design), Scott Westervelt (Costume Design), Scott Stauffer (Sound Design), and Nick Tochelli (Production Stage Manager). Casting is by Geoff Josselson.

Cloaked will run June 8-12, 15-19, and 21-26 at 8PM, and June 26th at 3PM in The Shop Theatre (18 W 18th Street, 6th Floor).

Tickets are $18 and are available through OvationTix or www.CAP21.org. *Cloaked is an Equity Approved Showcase.
