Artistic Pride Productions Presents The Piano Has Been Drinking (Not Me) at Don't Tell Mama, 6/3

Artistic Pride Productions announces its Main Stage Cabaret performance of The Piano Has Been Drinking (Not me) at Don't Tell Mama on June 3, 2013. The sixth cabaret in this series is the last one for the season and will feature singers and actors exploring the association between the artists and the vices that sometimes can fuel their art.

It's hard to call The Piano Has Been Drinking a celebration. From Amy Winehouse, Jack Kerouac, Kurt Cobain, Hank Williams, Billie Holiday, who were consumed by their vices; to Tennessee Williams, Tom Waitts, Lanford Wilson, Natalie Cole and Rufus Wainright who overcame their addictions - the list of artists and creative people who have had alcohol or substance abuse problems is a very long list. The Piano Has Been Drinking explores this strange and often turbulent connection.

It is Artistic Pride Productions' mission to promote and cultivate their work as an extension of the work of their peers. APP creates an environment in which artists who are marginalized in the commercial art world such as minorities, women and non-traditional artists have a place to not only create but thrive. Towards that end, APP's monthly Cabaret Series provides artists across all genres a safe space to create art and showcase their talents.
