Accidental Shakespeare's 'Hit & Run Shakespeare' to Present CYMBELINE, 1/4
Accidental Shakespeare Company would like to celebrate The New Year: 2014 with you! Turning their sights on the 11th show of their Hit & Run Shakespeare Series, the company is thrilled to be doing Hit & Run: CYMBELINE on January 4th, 2014 at Speyer Hall - University Settlement - 184 Eldridge St. in NYC.
With their company of fully memorized actors, the company is ready to spin Shakespeare's tale of innocence, jealousy, and war to unknown places. Never read CYMBELINE? When a girl marries a man with unknown lineage... When men make a bets against each other... When the King of Wales makes Romans unhappy... There's a Shakespearean play. The First Folio claims that this play is one of Shakespeare's tragedies, but it is also often considered a "romance" by critics.
No rehearsal. No director. No plan. For those who are new to "Hit & Run", the rules and its audience are key factors to its success. Like a game, any dropped lines, missed cues or late entrances are considered "fouls" which a referee records on a scoreboard. The actor with the most fouls at the end of the evening is awarded a prize. Audience interaction is encouraged and the company gets revved up by it. Casting is soon to be announced. For more information about Accidental Shakespeare Company's Hit & Run Shakespeare series or the January 4th Speyer Hall performance of Hit & Run Shakespeare: CYMBELINE, visit http://accidentalshakespeare.tumblr.com/. Tickets start at $15. All tickets will be available at the door. *AEA Showcase
